| It's time I finally use my space here on Deviant Art. I probably don't fit in here because I don't draw in my image manipulation programs but use them to adjust and modify textures for use on 3D models to be rendered. I can do that with just the mouse. Yeah odd isn't it. Ok I've never been normal. LOL. Although I've done some serious 3D graphics modeling(a lot less these days) I still can't help but do some 3D rendered images just for my own amusement and hopefully the amusement of others. I think of it as stress relief. No the renderer isn't Mental Ray and the lighting isn't that perfect on the images but then I'm not shooting for that level of involvement or realism anyway. All and all I just hope people find some fun in viewing them. Life and my tools... I've had to make some changes in expectations and life recently and amongst them full on changes in software I use. I'm kind of putting away the real expensive stuff I used and shifting to more cost effective alternatives. Amongst them is the my beginning use of Blender 3D instead of Cinema 4DXL for modeling. If I'm not going to be making the money with my 3D habit and since the free stuff is getting good enough I might as well switch. Gimp is looking good as well. No it's not Photoshop but then if you know enough you can still get personal things done well. Surprisingly the 2D program I used(Micrographic's PicturePublisher) instead of Photoshop with all it's layers and filters held up over time so well it's amazing. To bad that company didn't stick with it. Their software was good in it's time and could've given Adobe a run for their money now if it was still around. As for me as an artist. I do graphics(digital graphics?) Does that make me an artist? Probably not. I also don't have a signature style. What I do graphically can very like the shifting of the winds. The only thing that's consistent is that nothing is consistent except a few sets of sequential images I may do from time to time. |
